Introduction

This is the documentation for Easy List Edit - an add-on for Jira that makes it possible to quickly edit issues where there are issue lists in Jira.

Search for issues
DashBoard Issue
Epic list (list of Issue in an Epic)
Subtask list (list of Subtask in an Issue such as Story, Task, Bug)

Getting started

An administrator installs the plugin through the Addons section of Jira, or by downloading a version from the add-on page on Atlassian Marketplace.

After that, a license needs to be installed, or a trial to start with.

Usage (how do I edit)

An actual edit works by hovering a cell of one of the columns (of a supported field, see below). A pencil icon will show up. Click that, and the cell transform into a mini editor, which look depends on the field type. E.g. for assignee, you get a User selector, and for Due Date you can a Date Picker field.

Easy List Edit works in the following parts of Jira.

Search for Issues

Search for Issues also known as the Issue Navigator in Jira.
It can be found under the Issues menu item, in the menu bar at the top of Jira.

The “Search for Issue” has 2 modes, Detail View and List View.
Easy List Edit works for List View.
In the List View mode Issue fields can now be inline edited directly in it’s placement.

DashBoard

Easy List Edit works for the following DashBoards Gadgets

Filter results (Gadget)
Issues in progress (Gadget)
Assigned to Me (Gadget)
Voted Issues (Gadget)
Watched Issues (Gadget)

Epic list

Easy List Edit works in Issue type Epic in the list of Issues that has an Epic-Link belonging to an Epic.
Edit directly in the list of Issues Epic-linked to an Epic.
Summary and Assignee can be edited inline in the list.

SubTask list

Easy List Edit works in Issue type Issue such as Story, Task, Bug.
Edit directly in the list of SubTask belonging to an Issue.
Summary can be edited inline in the list.
